White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders on Sunday said President Donald Trump's prospective plan to send undocumented immigrants to sanctuary cities is undergoing a "complete and thorough review".

Reps. Bennie Thompson (D., Miss.), the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, and Jerry Nadler (D., N.Y.), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, appeared on ABC and CNN, where they defended her comment and pushed back against Trump's tweet.

The revenue department, which reports to the U.S. treasury, is in no mood to comply, taking the lead from the White House which has unequivocally said it will never allow for the President's tax returns to be turned over to congress "No, never", acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney has said. An upstate NY man recently was charged with making death threats against her.

The President's words weigh a ton, and his hateful and inflammatory rhetoric creates real danger.

"New York City will always be the ultimate city of immigrants - the president's empty threats won't change that", New York mayor Bill DeBlasio said in a statement.

The video spliced news footage of 9/11 with a clip from a speech Omar gave last month in which she described the terror attack as "some people did something".

Last year, Pelosi endorsed "collateral damage" against Americans who do not share her views and the views of the Democratic Party. It remained lower in the feed after Pelosi requested that the video be pulled.

Her critics, however, focused on her use of the phrase "some people did something", suggesting that she downplayed the attacks. "Democrats say that if you even think about rejecting people into this country illegally, that you are somehow racist". "But the president is absolutely and should be calling out the congresswoman for her, not only one-time, but history of anti-Semitic comments", she said.

Rather than saying that Democrats aren't smart enough to understand Trump's tax returns, it's possible that Sanders herself doesn't understand tax policies and rules surrounding the release of those records. "The bigger question is why aren't Democrats doing the same thing?"

Mr. Trump, in a series of tweets and comments to reporters over the past few days, confirmed that he is considering the move nonetheless.

Her office said Omar misspoke and "meant to refer to the fact that the organization had doubled in size after the September 11 attacks. Make everybody talk about it on their shows", Scott, who represents Florida, told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union".
