During The Walt Disney Company's Investor Day, almost all had been revealed about the highly-anticipated streaming service, Disney+.

Previously announced Disney+ projects include the Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian, starring Pedro Pascal and Nick Nolte, and a High School Musical reboot series with an ensemble of newcomers. All content can be downloaded for offline viewing, and the service will be available for smartphones and tablets, desktop browsers, game consoles, and smart TVs.

At the launch, Disney+ will have the first two trilogies from Star Wars plus The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

The streaming service is expected to take on rivals Netflix, HBO Go and Showtime Anytime.

The service's entire lineup will cover five categories: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. Hulu, which Disney now controls, will begin to roll out internationally, and Disney says it expects the service to grow from 25 million paid subscribers to between 40 and 60 million by the end of 2024.

Disney also stressed how it would use "the power of our brands and our consumer touch points", said Ricky Strauss, head of content and marketing for Disney+, to market the service in a way that sounds aggressive even by Disney standards. "WandaVision", starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, "Falcon and the Winter Soldier", starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, and a series around the "Thor" character Loki is planned, starring Tom Hiddleston.

All 13 of Disney's Signature Collection movies, which includes classics like The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio and more.

In addition to Disney+, the company is looking to bring its ESPN+ and Hulu services to more countries outside of the USA, although it's unclear if that includes Canada.

Shown during a presentation on the service by Disney, the company appears to be planning to bring Disney+ to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. (Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige teased that one episode will explore what might have happened if Peggy Carter was the one to become a super soldier, instead of Steve Rogers.) And just yesterday, the news broke that Disney+ is also developing a Hawkeye series with Jeremy Renner, centering on his mentor relationship with fellow archer Kate Bishop. Recent classics including Moana and Frozen will also be there - and Frozen II will also live on the series after its theatrical release and at home entertainment release in 2020. That includes exclusive rights to all 30 seasons of "The Simpsons," which Disney obtained rights to through the acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
