In the wake of Sunday's crash in Ethiopia, aviation authorities and carriers around the world, including in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the European Union, France, Germany, South Africa, China and Russian Federation either grounded all 737 Max 8 series aircraft or closed their airspace to them.

TUKO.co.ke had earlier reported a number of other nations across world had also grounded Boeing 737 Max 8 jets to ensure passenger safety.

Boeing has grounded its entire global fleet of 737 Max aircraft after investigators uncovered new evidence at the scene of the fatal Ethiopian Airlines crash.

Boeing's worldwide problems continued to mount as more countries and airlines joined the long list of those choosing to ground the company's 737 Max 8 aircraft.

Trump and the Federal Aviation Administration announced Wednesday all Max 8 and the longer Max 9 planes won't fly for the time being.

"The agency made this decision as a result of the data gathering process and new evidence collected at the site and analysed today", the FAA said in a statement.

Two black boxes from the Boeing 737 MAX airplane that crashed in Ethiopia arrived on Thursday in Paris for expert analysis, officials said, as regulators around the world awaited word on whether it was safe to resume flying the jets.

"We are making adjustments to our schedule to minimize the disruption to customers as much as possible, by optimizing the deployment of the rest of our fleet and looking at alternative options, including accommodating customers on other airlines", an Air Canada spokesperson said. The MAX 8, though, remains a small part of Southwest's fleet, but the company relies exclusively on the 737 family, which has been flying for years without incident.

"Any plane now in the air will go to its destination and thereafter be grounded until further notice", Trump told reporters.

Deliveries of Boeing's best-selling 737 MAX jets were effectively frozen, though production continued, after the United States joined a global grounding of the narrowbody model over safety concerns, industry sources said.

Tim Ghriskey, chief investment strategist at Inverness Counsel in NY, said the grounding gives Boeing time to address any problems and not face another potential disaster.

The plane that crashed in Ethiopia is similar to the Boeing Max 8 model that went down off the coast of Indonesia last October. "We should not have these up in the air at all", Kimber Climie said.

It is far too early to know the cause of Sunday's crash, but observers have noted it may have some similarities to the Lion Air crash in October.

Lovepreet Singh flew from Toronto to Winnipeg on a 737 Max 8 on March 13.

Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde Gebremariam said their pilots had received special training. "So planes that are in the air will be grounded - if they are the 737 Max, will be grounded upon landing at the destination". But what exactly is wrong with the Boeing 737 Max 8 plane?

The FAA says there are 74 such planes registered in the USA and 387 around the world.

"The pilot reported flight control problems and requested to turn back".

"There can't be any Max 8 or Max 9 aircraft flying into, out of or across Canada", he said, confirming that it affects domestic carriers like Air Canada, WestJet and Sunwing, as well as global airlines.
