Kelly owes his ex-wife, Drea Kelly, $161,633 in back child support and the deadline to pay it is today, March 6, 2019, the Chicago Tribune reported. Cook County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari told The Associated Press that Kelly was detained, and will be transferred to the county jail.

Savage's family has long explained she's been brainwashed and held captive by Kelly, a claim he and Joycelyn Savage deny.

"If you get any traction from that, if you are able to write a book from that, if you can get a reality show then any girl that I had a relationship with in the past that it just didn't work out, she can come and say the same exact thing". The court ordered Kelly to make a monthly payment of $20,833 on January 8, 2009, but Kelly did not show up to that hearing, according to CNN.

A lawyer representing the couple bristled at the allegation during a news conference Wednesday, saying Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage never asked for or received money from Kelly.

Kelly denied the allegations in an emotional interview with "CBS This Morning" co-host Gayle King. But some attorney's, like Brenda Derouen, saw the interview and thought, "What is R. Kelly doing?"

CBS says it interviewed Kelly for 80 minutes.

Kelly's attorney, Steve Greenberg, was in court but did not comment. "One-on-one with just me and my daughter and him".

"There are older men who like younger women and older women who like younger men". At one point he looks at the camera and screams that "it's stupid" to think he would hold women against their will given his past. "I've been hearing things and seeing things on the blogs, you know, I'm just exhausted". He was tried in that case and acquitted of child pornography charges in 2008.

Kelly has pleaded not guilty to the 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse that he faces.

"Mr. Kelly has more than 20 people on his staff who, needless to say, are being paid", France said.

At one point during the interview, Kelly angrily stands up and starts pacing, his voice breaking as he yells, "I didn't to this stuff!"

Although it's 100% evident, R. Kelly did not pay his way to freedom. It was his first television interview about the sex abuse case against him, where he told reporter Gayle King that his accusers are liars. He states that the two girls he's accused of brainwashing and holding in his alleged sex cult... were handed over to him by their parents who wanted fame. "Because he knows that after over two decades of sexually abusing underage girls, we blew this wide open and have him and his enablers dead to rights".
