  • Michael Jackson Dropped From Some Radio Stations Following Child Sex Abuse Doc

The news comes after several publications reported that Jackson's music had been dropped by BBC Radio 2 earlier this week, something the BBC has since refuted.

Christine Dicaire, a spokeswoman for Montreal media company Cogeco, told The Guardian that the ban also applies to 23 smaller stations in the province.

Another broadcaster NZME said Jackson's music will also be stopped.

Two men, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, say Jackson sexually abused them when they were aged seven and 10.

The divisive Michael Jackson documentary "Leaving Neverland" might not have aired in the United Kingdom yet, but that did not stop die-hard fans of the late singer from standing on the streets of London to protest his innocence on Wednesday. Tiny Record Shop in Toronto has taken a public stand, refusing to stock any of Jackson's records. RNZ radio in New Zealand has pulled Jackson from their playlist with program director Dean Buchanan noting, "Playlists change from week to week and right now Michael Jackson does not feature on them".

The two companies between them dominate commercial radio.

The Jackson estate has denied the allegations and have filed a $100m law suit against HBO for breaching a non-disparagement clause that appeared in an old contract.

The decisions not to play Jackson's music will no doubt further tarnish his brand and could result in a loss of radio royalties.

6IX program director Brad Pottinger said: "We are still happy to play Michael Jackson".

That made it the third most-watched documentary in the last decade for HBO, excluding music concert films, behind Going Clear and the Prison of Belief, and Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.
