"Consumers in the United States (particularly in rural and poor areas) will be deprived of access to the most advanced technologies, and will face higher prices and a significantly less competitive market", the company said in the complaint.

European governments are balking at USA pressure to ban Huawei.

Guo even countered that the US government "has hacked our servers and stolen our emails and source code", without providing details. The company's 2018 revenue forecast is $100 billion and its founder, Ren Zhengfei, said last month this year's target is $125 billion. With the world's communication networks starting to transition to 5G and Huawei being one of the biggest manufacturers of 5G equipment, there are billions of dollars at stake for the company. According to the filing, Huawei states that the bill signed by President Trump to bar the use of its equipment is unconstitutional and that the company wasn't given the right to due process, which is fundamental in the American judicial system.

The privately owned firm has embarked on a public relations and legal offensive as Washington lobbies allies to abandon Huawei when building 5G networks, centering on a 2017 Chinese law requiring companies cooperate with national intelligence work.

Huawei says the new law would shrink its potential USA market further by prohibiting the government from buying the Chinese vendor's technology and from buying goods or services from or giving grants or loans to companies or other third parties that do.

Huawei just upped the ante in its fight with the U.S. over its telecommunication devices.

Huawei has responded with an aggressive PR campaign to counter the U.S. warnings, with reclusive founder Ren Zhengfei denying the fears in a series of foreign media interviews.

Taking its campaign of flattery to the next level, Huawei invited news organizations on a reticent tour of its mammoth production lines along with its research and development facilities that are located in southern Guangdong province.

The U.S. and China have tried to keep Meng's case separate from the trade dispute.

China-US row ERUPTS: Huawei accuses US of HACKING EMAILS as Beijing SUES Washington

Separately, Huawei's chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou is suing Canada over her arrest at the request of the US.

Meng is suing the Canadian government, border agency and the national police force for detaining and interrogating her before informing her she was under arrest.

"[The US government] has hacked our servers and stolen our emails and source code", rotating chairman Guo Ping said at a media conference.

The latest import suspension was completely "reasonable and legal" and aimed at protecting the health and safety of Chinese citizens, said Lu.

The White House didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the lawsuit.

Huawei has filed a lawsuit against the USA government.

Some China-watchers, however, say it is highly unlikely that Ren could have steered his company to such heights in such a strategic sector without the support of Beijing, which has clearly stated its goal of becoming the world's high-tech leader.

"PRISM, PRISM, on the wall, who is the most trustworthy of them all", he said, referring to the US National Security Agency's internet surveillance programme PRISM, which collected data from major internet companies.

Update 2 (9:31PM EST): Huawei brings up that USA companies have weak "cyber security hygine" as the data breaches that happened over the past few years such as Equifax were all unrelated to Huawei.
