The Wales worldwide has agreed a pre-contract deal to join on July 1 when his Arsenal deal expires at the end of the season.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is leaving the club after 11 seasons to join Juventus, the Serie A club said on Monday, with the Wales global signing a four-year contract.

Because his contract with Arsenal had less than sixth months remaining before it expired, he was free to negotiate a deal with any team on the market, and as a result, Arsenal will not receiving anything in the transaction, losing him for virtually nothing.

Free agent Ramsey was also touted as a target for the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, while Arsenal's top-flight rivals United and Liverpool have also been linked.

Juventus said on their website that they will "incur additional costs of 3.7 million euros ($A5.9m)", to be paid by July 10, though they did not explain what the money would be for.

Nobody here wants to predict yet when that end will come, but ISIS as a territorial force has entered it's final days. SDF spokesman Mustafa Bali told the AFP news agency: "The battle has started".

According to reports, Ramsey will earn over £400,000 ($A730,000) a week, making him the highest-earning British player ever based on basic salary.

Ramsey published a statement on Twitter thanking Arsenal's "loyal and supportive" fans. He will be reunited with former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny when he joins the Old Lady in the summer, but will first look to see out his Arsenal contract in style.

Ramsey, 28, issued his own statement via Instagram.

But having switched between midfield and the wing in his 11 years at Arsenal, Juve believe Ramsey has still not found his true place on the field.

'You welcomed me as a teenager and have been there for me through all the highs and lows I've encountered during my time at the club.
