LAS VEGAS - Manny Pacquiao vowed to show in his first fight since turning 40 last month that he was still a force to be reckoned with in boxing. The judges scored it 117-111, 116-112, 116-12 all in favour of Pacquaio.

Whether Pacquiao's dominating win over Adrien Broner gets him a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, though, is a question that will have to be answered another night.

"You keep asking me about Manny Pacquiao, " Mayweather said during the fight. He was missing. I hit him more times. "Although I wanted to be aggressive more, my camp told me, 'Don't be careless, ' and to counter him and wait for opportunities". "I have something to prove to everyone about what that means".

That face Mayweather pulled straight after seeing Pacquiao win nearly says, yeah, I'll have another hundred million plus dollars in the bank if it's on offer for a Pacquiao rematch. "I'm willing to fight again with Floyd Mayweather if he's willing to come back to boxing".

Mayweather gave no reaction when the camera panned on him as he opted to stay out of the ring and the limelight with the crowd desperate to learn if the two will have another dust-up. Pacquiao was a lean 146 pounds while Broner was a trim 146.5 at the official weigh-in held at the same venue of their bout.

CompuBox credited Pacquiao for landing 62 more overall punches than Broner (112-of-568 to 50-of-295). "I proved it in my last fight against (Lucas Matthysse) and now proved it again".

Pacquiao is already eligible for the presidency since he turned 40 on December 17, 2018, but the top post in Philippine politics isn't the focus of the boxer-senator. Broner never landed more than seven punches in any round.

Pacquiao again struck hard in the ninth round with a follow-up left straight that had Broner backing up.

Broner widely protested the decision as the crowd jeered him. From that point forward, though, Broner (33-4-1, 24 KOs) rarely engaged and opted to shy away from "Pac Man" until the final bell. Pacquiao later connected with a three-punch combination that forced Broner to the ropes. "I beat him. Smart boxing".
